Mary and Martha

Luke 10:38-42

Martha was a worrier
She stayed busy all the time
Making sure the house was clean
And prepared for folks to dine.

Mary chose to sit awhile
At the Savior's feet,
Listening to his message,
Not fixing food to eat.

"Tell her to come help me!"
Martha pleaded to the Lord.
"I'm working hard, but here she sits.
We have wine that must be poured!"

"My dear Martha, please don't fret,"
Said Jesus to his host.
"Mary sitting at my feet
Is what's desired most."
